Gasoline Prices Continue to Rise in the Fourth Week of 2022

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Commerce has stated that the price of fuel will continue to rise from 1-15 February, with regular gasoline costs increasing to 4,500 riel, or US $1.11, per liter, and diesel to 4,250 riel, roughly US $1, per liter. This is the third consecutive increase in fuel prices in Cambodia over the last four weeks starting from 1 January 2022.

The Ministry of Commerce said in a statement released on Tuesday that oil prices were rising due to fluctuations in international markets.

The statement added, "The Ministry of Commerce does not set the selling price of fuel in Cambodia, it only quotes the fluctuation of oil prices in the international market to calculate the announcement as mentioned in the reference above.”

According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, the price of regular gasoline on 1 January was 4,200 riel per liter and diesel was at 3,800 riel per liter.
